Yes that's right, I'm in love with my computer. My new Gateway computer, that has brought me back to my internet family, my virtual world of existence...is my new lover. (You can see my monitor in the picture.)

All I want to do is stay up all night and surf the net at lightning speeds. Give me something to download, and watch it go as fast as they do in the movies when the bad guy is quickly coming down the hall. Yet, the download is so fast, that the good guy gets the information and leaves undiscovered before the bad guy catches him. You get the drift.

I never thought I would just sit and admire an inanimate object before. It just never occurred to me that a computer could be brilliant yet sexy. Its sleek black trimmed monitor, waiting to show me the wonders of information to be found while surfing. From YouTube, to Viral Networks...the speeds at which I now travel through online virtuosity is amazing. I thought I was having fun before, now I am absolutely euphoric.

The hard drive is a mean piece of machinery too. Housing 6GB of memory, and 640GB hard drive, the CD/DVD read/write drive also boasts LabelFlash technology. Gateway's version of Lightscribe.

Another wonderful caveat are the 6 USB connections. There's lots of room to transfer and connect to outside sources. Oh, did I mention the monitor is HDMI? And that this monster comes with HDTV Tuner?

I've got everything hooked up properly except the HDTV Tuner. We haven't been able to figure out how to grab the TV frequencies so I can watch TV instead of really getting some work done.

The sound system is kind of chintzy, but I'll live with it for now. I see a nice 2-piece Bose computer speaker system in my future. The last time I checked the price, Best Buy had them for around $99. Maybe a tax refund might come in handy. Hmmm....

The pictures you see in this post were shot with my trusty Blackberry, and not the greatest things I ever did, but I was too lazy to take the 'real' camera out of the camera bag and shoot a really professional picture. Maybe next time.

I love my new computer so much, I just may post everyday. It'll give me a reason for being on it. Or maybe I'll hang out in my favorite affiliate forum, choices. I'll come up with something for sure.

But you know what's really important? That you took time out of your busy day to read my blog. Thank you so much for spending time in Teasas World.

Hey! Glad to hear your happy. Just to let you know you can have a "chintzy" computer and the internet speed will be the same on any pc. yes your web browser will seem faster cause it can have multiple windows open without slowing you down. But Technically that gateway PC with the un-needed 6Gb of Ram, will not speed up your internet speed.. For example you can't make a 56k dial-up faster than 56k cause its limited. But congrats on the new pc----FIRST

Hey there Anonymous...I wanted a computer with such memory and storage because I am a photographer as well and I have currently over 7000 images and I use Photoshop to edit my work. Photoshop is a large file, and I want to do other things while I work on photos, such as listen to music, on my old computer, the music would freeze, or Photoshop would freeze, and it would go slow.
My brother is a network administrator, and believe me it was not my ISP. It was the computer. The processor was 4 years old, and believe me, there is a difference between this computer and my old one. Thanks for the comment though!

@Deana...thank you I intend on having lots of fun with "The Beast."

Uff..I had a very bad experience with Gateway long ago, not with the computer, but with the company (I ordered it while in UK, but they never sent it, and I had to ask a solicitor from my university to help me get back the money and it took months that caused me have to extend my stay. The solicitor said that there were also other students who had problem with them, and he called it 'frustrating company'. They didn't return my money full, though it's their mistake).
Still feel a bit annoyed when I remember it.
Anyway congratulation with the new computer :)) Sorry for the rant ;)

Wow Ori, did you ever get your situation resolved. Thats terrible. I have never wanted a Gateway before because I had heard some really bad things about them. However, I have been informed that Gateway has improved, and so far I am pleased with it. I figured if I got a more expensive model I would do fine. Thanks for commenting.
