It's expensive to eat healthy. I learned that when my son was placed on a special diet because of his diabetes. Instead of buying hot pockets and other preservative filled foods, I shopped for fresh fruit and vegetables. My grocery bill was very expensive. Here is a little poll, I found it interesting, because maybe some of you are under the impression that if healthy food were more affordable, you'd buy more of it.

What say you? Can you afford to eat heathy?

The food industry does not advertise fruits and vegetables because its profit margins are low. This industry cannot “add value” to their products to command higher price. But they can “add value” by increasing the prices of inexpensive ingredients in junk food with additives, shapes, and packaging.

Hot Pockets, have a higher profit margin than vegetables because the additives are cheaper than the fruits and vegetables.
